Day 1:

Arrival to Allama Iqbal International Airport

As the sun begins to cast its warm, golden hues over the city of Lahore, you touch down at Allama Iqbal International Airport, your heart brimming with excitement for the adventure that lies ahead. It’s essential to arrive before noon to kick-start your journey with a spectacular event. After checking into our hotel, we waste no time and head to the Wagah Border, where Pakistan and India converge in a magnificent display of patriotism and military precision during the daily Wagah Border Ceremony. The electrifying atmosphere, complete with synchronized marches, lowering of flags, and the cheers of the crowd, leaves you awe-struck. This is the perfect introduction to Lahore and the spirit of its people.

In the evening, we savour a delightful meal at a local eatery, immersing yourself in the flavours of Pakistan’s rich culinary heritage. The tantalizing aromas and vibrant spices tease your taste buds, setting the tone for our adventure.

Day 2:

Lahore - Meet the Mughals of Badshahi Mosque and Lahore Fort

Your day begins with a sumptuous breakfast buffet at the hotel, offering a medley of local and international flavors. Energized and ready for exploration, we set out to discover the historical gems of Lahore.

First stop, the magnificent Badshahi Mosque, a masterpiece of Mughal architecture. Its colossal domes and intricate minarets stand as a testament to the grandeur of the Mughal Empire. As you wander through its vast courtyard, you’re enveloped in a serene aura. No visit to Pakistan is complete without it really.

Next, we venture into the Lahore Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The sprawling complex of palaces, gardens, and mesmerizing frescoes whispers tales of bygone eras. A lot of the restoration works in the last 5 years means you get to really now see it in all its beauty for the first time! We then retire from the midday sun for a banquet overlooking all of Badshahi, taking it all in from a birds eye view.

In the afternoon, you bid farewell to Lahore, heading northward to Islamabad, where we will rest for the night ahead of our journey to the Northern Areas, the jewel in crown of Pakistan.

Day 3:

Welcome to "The North": Gilgit and Fairy Meadows

Today, the thrill of reaching the untamed wilderness of northern Pakistan awaits. You board a flight to Gilgit, a journey that offers panoramic views of rugged snow-capped mountain ranges and deep valleys from above. Upon landing, you embark on a scenic bus ride to Raikot, where the adventure truly begins. Jeeps rev their engines as you transfer to these sturdy 4×4 vehicles, ready to conquer the challenging terrain that leads to Fairy Meadows. Known as one of the more treacherous roads in the world, it has been modified to make for a much smoother ride in recent years and our drivers are truly professional. When the jeeps can take us no further we venue onwards on our first hike of the trip. This two hour trek brings you through gushing streams, dense forest and there are stops along the way for delicious Chai.

We eventually arrive at Fairy Meadows, as the sun paints the sky in hues of orange and pink, you settle into your cozy log cabin accommodation. The night here is magical, with the milky way illuminating the sky like a celestial masterpiece.

Day 4:

Adventure to Nanga Parbat Viewpoint

Today’s adventure unfolds as you set out on a thrilling trek to the Nanga Parbat Viewpoint. The rugged mountain trails guide you to Bayal Camp, where you enjoy a well-deserved chai break amid the pristine wilderness. As you ascend, the awe-inspiring path towards Nanga Parbat view point, the world’s ninth-highest mountain, looms ever closer, its snow-clad peaks glistening in the sunlight.

After a day of trekking and embracing the raw beauty of nature, you return to the enchanting Fairy Meadows for another restful night around the roaring campfire with chai after a hearty and wholesome meal.

Day 5:

Nestle into Naltar Valley

Leaving Fairy Meadows behind we return the way we came with a trek down to meet our Jeeps where we soar the winding road back to our tour bus on the Karakoram Highway where we load up and journey to Naltar Valley. As you enter the valley, the landscape transforms into a mesmerizing tapestry of emerald-green meadows, crystal-clear streams, and snow-capped peaks. This region is very undiscovered and as roads have not yet fully been finished, we transfer to 4×4 to complete the rest of our journey.

You spend the night in a local guesthouse, immersing yourself in the warm hospitality of the region. Here you can enjoy more moments in nature, around the campfire and rest up ahead of the adventure the next day.

Day 6:

The serene beauty of Naltar Lakes and Karimabad Bazaar

Today’s escapade leads you to the pristine Naltar Lakes, hidden secrets of northern Pakistan. After a scenic jeep ride through stunning meadows, you embark on a trek to reach these cobalt blue and emerald green lakes, surrounded by towering mountains. We amble across the rocks, to explore the meadows, streams and waters of the area and if you are feeling tempid enough to dunk in the glacial waters, you’ll have ample opportunity to do so! After a spot of lunch, we take you to Karimabad Bazaar, a bustling hub of local culture and craftsmanship. Here, you shop for souvenirs, handicrafts, and immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere. You also take the opportunity to catch up on some much-needed wifi connectivity …and coffee!

Day 7:

Soaring up to Eagles Nest and Evening BBQ

The morning is reserved for more shopping in Karimabad Bazaar, allowing you to explore the local treasures further and get those early morning bargains.

In the afternoon, after a delicious lunch, you ascend to Eagles Nest, a vantage point that offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding peaks and wide expanse of Hunza Valley, including Rakaposhi, Lady Finger and Ultar Sar. As the sun sets, you gather around a cozy bonfire, enjoying a BBQ feast (Including veggie options), traditional music, and stories under the starlit sky. It’s a night of camaraderie and celebration.

Day 8:

A hidden Fjord in Biscocho Trek and Attabad Lake Boat Ride

With renewed energy, you embark on the Biscocho Trek, a challenging yet rewarding trail that offers spectacular views of Attabad Lake. This trek to a remote crevice is very lesser known and as such, we will have the place to ourselves. Offering views equivalent or better to the Fjords of Norway, a truly awe inspiring view awaits you.

Later in the day, you take a boat ride on the stunning Attabad Lake, its turquoise waters contrasting with the dramatic, rocky terrain surrounding it. Originally created by a landside that engulfed an entire village, it now hosts an array of mango smoothie stalls and coffee shops. The day concludes with a trip along the Ghulkin Orchard Trail, providing a serene end to your adventures before retiring to a traditional homestay for the night. Here you will enjoy a traditional home cooked meal made by the family who will join us for dinner.

Day 9:

Expedition through the Black Glacier and Passu Hanging Bridge

You wake up in a small, rural and ultra remote village called Ghulkin surrounded by apricot trees and apple orchards. Today we prepare for another thrilling day. Your trek takes you across the rugged Black Glacier, a starkly beautiful landscape of ice and rock. This trek involves scrambling carefully and slowly through rocks and ice sculptures until we reach the tranquility of Borith Lake. Here we enjoy chai, take in the views around us and head for lunch.

In the afternoon, you visit the iconic Passu Hanging Bridge, a marvel of local engineering that spans 300m across the Hunza River. We traverse along this thrilling adrenaline pumping bridge before trekking back to head for a delicious home cooked meal once more in our homestay.

Day 10:

Feasting in Islamabad.

As your unforgettable adventure in northern Pakistan draws to a close, we drive back to Gilgit, bidding farewell to the enchanting landscapes and warm-hearted people you’ve met along the way. From Gilgit, you catch a flight to Islamabad, where we will visit the iconic Faisal Mosque, one of the worlds largest before settling into a delicious lunch of traditional Afghani food. We spend the evening in Islamabad where we will settle into our hotel for the night but not before one last farewell banquet and prepare for the departure flights from Pakistan the following day.
