Arrival at Queen Alia International Airport.
You will be met by our trusted representative for the group to assist you through immigration and the airport straight into a private transfer taking you to our hotel in the heart of Amman. There will be a opportunity to have dinner together and get to know the group before our early start tomorrow. Overnight in Amman
We will wake early to enjoy the breakfast at our hotel before heading out in our private minibus for our official Amman tour. We start off by going to Amman’s Citadel which is situated on a “mountain” in Central Amman. Known for being one of the oldest continuously inhabited places, this first stop will give us a glimpse over the capital before going to Amman-Downtown, known as “Al-Balad” by the locals. We will get to see the different & various markets and ancient souks.
We end the tour of Amaan by visiting the impressive remnant of its roman past, the Amphitheatre. The Roman theatre that was built at the time Amman was known as “Philadelphia” (around 106AD). Then it’s off to the city of Jerash. We will get to experience the impact & influence left by the Greco-Roman eras in the Mediterranean basin and the deeply rooted Arab traditions preserved by the local people. If we are lucky we may get to enjoy a historical re-enactment of gladiators & chariot race.
Dinner is back at our hotel and then it’s time to rest for another full day tomorrow. Overnight in Amman.
We will enjoy our breakfast in Amman, then start by the day by visiting the cave of the seven sleeper. The cave of Ashab Kahf is a partly natural and partly man-made burial cave dating back to the Byzantine era, believed to be the cave of Ashab Kahf as mentioned in the Quran. Travelling to the south of Jordan next we visit the Mu’ta Battle site before we see the tombs of Jafar-bin-Abi Talib, Zaid Ibn Al Harithah; & Abdallah bin Rawahah;
We then continue to Petra and squeeze in a visit to Little Petra. Officially known as Siq al-Barid, the site is just a 15 minute drive from where we will be staying overnight. Little Petra boasts some exceptionally high gorges and carved facades ,has far fewer tourists, yet still a awe inspiring history and ruins with visiting and experiencing.
( Visit Petra by Night Optional ) Overnight stay in Petra.
Early breakfast at our hotel then it’s a full day visiting Petra, the rose red city “Petra” is Jordan’s most valuable treasure and greatest tourist attraction. It is a vast, unique city, carved into the sheer rock face by the Nabataea’s, an industrious Arab people who settled here more than 2000 years ago. Upon arrival, you will walk through the Siq, the only access to this city, visit the Treasury, the Roman Theatre, the Royal Tombs, the Court, Qaser Al Bint and the Church. Late morning we continue south to the desert .
On arrival at the camp, we will meet our Bedouin hosts and start a jeep safari exploring this World Heritage Site, traveling around Wadi Rum’s valleys, canyons, dunes and deserts, discovering rock inscriptions, majestic views of mountains and landscapes and narrow gorges.
Our last stop and overnight stay is at a Bedouin camp area deep inside the desert where a barbecue dinner awaits us. Overnight Wadi Rum Desert.
We will enjoy a late Breakfast at our camp in Wadi Rum before heading to Aqaba. This is a Jordanian port city on the Red Sea’s Gulf of Aqaba.
We are spoilt for choice on how to spend our day. It is a free day, and we can relax on the beach, go snorkelling to see the colourful life under the water of the Red Sea or diving for the wreck sites. We also have Aqabas old town and colourful souks, the Sharif Al Hussein Bin Ali Masjid amongs many other things to do if you choose to venture out. Overnight in Aqaba.
We can enjoy another late start today, have a lazy breakfast and head out . We will then be driving toward the lowest point on Earth passing by winding roads to the cave of Prophet Lut and continue to the Dead Sea to enjoy a stress-free day, floating in the saltiest body of water in the world. The Dead Sea is known to be Earth’s lowest elevation on land and the deepest hyper-saline lake in the world. Its harsh environment does not permit the flourishment of any plant or animals. On the other hand, it has extremely healthy & beneficial properties that have attracted visitors for thousands of years and still do. Overnight at the Dead Sea
We start the day as we always do with a hearty breakfast then transfer to visit the historic Mount Nebo, one of the most revered holy sites of Jordan and the place where Moses was buried where we have a over view the Jordan valley all the way to Palestine the holy land and mountains. A small Byzantine church was built there by early Christians, we visit this then visit the mosaic work shop where can see the hand craft of mosaic artefact. We continue our visit to the city mosaics (Madaba) to visit the Greek Orthodox church of St. George and see the 6th century Byzantine mosaic map showing Jerusalem and other holy sites . We return back to Amaan for our last dinner together as in the morning we say our goodbyes. Overnight in Amman.
Breakfast & ‘see you later’. We don’t say goodbyes as this is not the end of our times together, friendships and sisterhood. We just say bye to the country of Jordan and return home till our next adventure.
